Egg Laying Process
Egg Production & Processing
There are many processes involved in producing eggs and getting them from the farm to the table - or the art studio - and a lot of different people involved in the process.
At the farm, chicks are raised in hatcheries, then migrated to our pullet barns until they are ready to move to the laying barn.
Farmers from all over Alberta send their eggs to Sparks Egg Farms for grading. Once the eggs reach the grading station, they will be cleaned, candled, graded, sorted, packaged into cartons and then shipped to retail stores or commercial facilities. Only the best eggs are rated as Canada Grade A, and only Grade A eggs will end up in the freezer section at your local grocer.
