Are organic eggs better for me?

Organic eggs are produced by hens that are fed certified organic feed, grown on land that has not been exposed to pesticides or herbicides for at least 3 years. No preservatives are added to their feed. Also, hens that produce organic eggs cannot be fed antibiotics or medications.

Also, hens that produce organic eggs cannot be fed antibiotics or medications. If hens in this barn become ill and require veterinary assistance, they are treated but are no longer qualified to produce organic eggs so they are moved to a different laying barn.

Organic eggs are high in vitamins A, D, B12, B2, niacin, folate and choline. They also have higher levels of lutein and zeaxanthin (yellow and orange carotenoids), which can reduce your risk of developing cataracts and age-related macular degeneration.
